We've come to an agreement that we need a welcome message on the main page. We'd like to have a short summary of totse2 and some helpful information. The goal is to make the home page more inviting and get all of those "guests" to register.
The winner will receive a black username, the ability to have a custom user title, and credit for the message on the home page.

On February 17th, The legendary Totse.com was closed(insert wiki link here). From that moment, users Idio and Mike were not content with moving on and decided to start Totse2.net. On february 16th, the 2 went to work setting up Totse2.net, a forum that was free hosted on Forumotion to start a continuation for all lost Totseans in the immediate closure of Totse.com. They felt a need to keep things going. Totse2.net was open for over a year with over 1,000 registered users and many contributing posters finding the site. However, on (insert date here) after months of debating and speculation, the team finally decided it was time to move from a free host to the well respected Forum software Vbulletin.
Here we are, Totse2.com, were we promote freedom of speech, which is our right. We cover a wide range of topics from bombs to hacking. However, all information posted on this website is strictly protected under (insert amendment here), we are here to stay and continue what Totse.com started.Totse2.com
The Temple Of The Screaming Electron, or TOTSE, was a dial up BBS beginning in the year 1989. What it became was a massive archive of text files and message board for ideas both legal, and not so. Ranging from Sexual Ideations, Drugs, Random Thoughts, Major Computer/Technological Workings, Fashion, Art, Psychology, Media, and almost anything the mind could come up with. It was shut down on January 17th 2009 by original owner and operator Jeff Hunter.
Upon the closure of totse.com, totse2.net(former address), was established to keep the idea going. Due to software issues, the page was relocated to totse2.com, and better software is currently running the forums (feel free to edit and go all technical here). Today we the members of Totse2 keep that spirit going for ourselves and those to find this knowledge in the future. We have re-spawned and revamped the theory that is TOTSE into what we have today. Totse was founded on the principal of free speech by Jeff Hunter in 1989. Over the years it transformed from a small dial-up BBS into a huge community with thousands of users. Totse has been know for the text files section and the endless discussions that take place in the forum. The original Totse closed it's doors on January 17th, 2009. Idiosycracy and Mikehunt1 opened totse2.net the day before Totse closed it's doors. On April 18, 2010 we upgraded to vBulletin and moved to totse2.com.

A website paying homage to the older days of BBS systems, after the late totse.com. Totse2 is many things that surpass the the classic, and yet it is not the mainstream user site. Likewise it is not an image based website (although we do post images). It is not a website for blogging (although we do have blogs). It is not a networking website (although we do network).
Totse2 is a website for information. Information on anything you will ever want to know. Information submitted by users, in the form of classic style text files and forum threads. Discussions range from the polite and relevant to the obscene and obscure. Politics, humanities, religion, sex, cuisine, weapons, pyrotechnics, drugs, legal and illegal activities, computer and automotive technology, music, the environment, do it yourself projects, and so much more. Information can and will be found in every nook and cranny, every forum, every thread. However this website is only as strong as it's users. The more members, the more information.
I know what you're thinking. You're thinking that the internet is exactly just for that, and that this website is a piss poor attempt at mimicking Wikipedia. But here you are allowed to do something you can do nowhere else: you are allowed to decide for yourself. You get to decide who to love and hate, who to agree and disagree with. You get to decide what you want to read, if you even want to read it. You don't have to deal with mainstream rhetoric (unless that's your thing), you don't have to read idiotic sentences (unless it is your desire to do so), you don't have to do anything, unless you want to.You will learn what you didn't know you were ignorant of, you will disagree and agree to no end, you will change for the better and the worse.
